With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing heath challenges. 

PATH works with national malaria control programs in Africa to scale up interventions to reduce the burden of malaria, as well as to generate evidence and support planning for new strategies to accelerate elimination. The focus is on improving the collection, reporting and use of malaria surveillance data to enable rapid, accurate and rational decision-making to maximize the impact of interventions.

As part of its support to the Ministry of Public Health through its growing malaria portfolio in DRC, PATH DRC is currently seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with strong problem solving and analytical skills to support the DRC Malaria portfolio of projects and programs. This role will report to the Malaria Program Lead, DRC and support project strategy and execution. 

The role entails working with an entrepreneurial mind-set and self-motivation. The candidate must be able to function independently, be flexible, and have a strong commitment to excellence. This will involve attending calls and meetings with various malaria implementing partners and teams, tracking action items and requests, developing technical materials as needed, partner with others across PATH DRC programs, to resource various activities, and ensure follow-up.

A successful candidate will have a background/ interest in global health, be highly motivated and hard working with exceptional organizational, problem-solving, decision making, and communication skills. This role will rely on strong skills in building collaborations, partnering with broad stakeholder groups, working across global projects and teams, clear communication (verbal and written), and strong time and people management.

Responsibilities:   

  • Support malaria project planning, work plan development and monitoring, and reporting to ensure effective communication between donors, project teams, partners, and global MNTD PATH teams.
  • Provide ad hoc project management support to the DRC program portfolio and contribute to program development initiatives.
  • Coordinate routine donor reporting and deliverable development and lead preparation for internal or donor project updates
  • Develop reports and presentation decks for sensitizing internal and external stakeholders about PATH DRC projects/programs
  • Assist in the development of project communications for PATH leadership and donors
  • Support the Program Director Malaria to pursue opportunities for collaboration with other PATH teams, helping to build a cross-collaboration approach to malaria implementing partners and PATH DRC’s work
  • Support the Program Director Malaria with additional tasks as needed 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Medical Doctor with 3-5 years of health project work experience
  • Experience in implementing community-based care or ICCM highly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical capabilities, and decision-making skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills and a positive, solution-oriented approach to challenges
  • Strong writer of both formal and informal communications to internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think creatively to help organize information, manage workflow, and improve systems and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships in a high growth environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to work both independently and with teams across time zones and locations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously effectively in high pressure situations while remaining calm
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of assignments
  • Strong work ethic, resourcefulness, integrity, credibility, and dedication to PATH’s mission
  • English and French fluency required
  • Must have legal authorization to work in DRC
