PATH works with national malaria control programs in Africa to scale up interventions to reduce the burden of malaria, as well as to generate evidence and support planning for new strategies to accelerate elimination. The focus is on improving the collection, reporting and use of malaria surveillance data to enable rapid, accurate and rational decision-making to maximize the impact of interventions.
As part of its support to the Ministry of Public Health through its growing malaria portfolio in DRC, PATH is currently recruiting a Strengthening Malaria Surveillance Specialist who will be part of the MACEPA. S/He will lead the implementation of surveillance and M&E activities related to MACEPA in DRC. The Strengthening Malaria Surveillance Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the MEAL Advisor based at Kinshasa.
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the MACEPA project's MEAL Advisor, the Strengthening Malaria Surveillance Specialist will provide technical support to the NMCP to strengthen its surveillance and M&E systems and supervise the project's provincial team on surveillance and M&E aspects. He/she must maintain synergy and collaboration with the other components of the MACEPA project.
